With the advent of Opera 6 the user can run multiple instances of Opera simultaneously from seperate initialisation files. This makes O6CPM even more useful, not only for multiple users on one machine/login, but also for users who want to have a different set of preferences for different browsing tasks.

Opera Customizer & Profile Maker is available in a number of languages. You can see some screenshots here.

Opera Customizer & Profile Maker is a tool that can customize a number of hidden settings in Opera, and can also setup any number of new profiles for the Opera Browser. These profiles are accessed through shortcuts which are placed on your desktop. A new instance of Opera6.ini and other necessary files which make up the profile are stored in a folder in a sub directory of the main Opera directory called 'Profiles'. Each profile can be run independent of your original Opera setup.

O6CPM can then be used to change any of the hidden settings in your Main Opera Install, or any Profiles that you make with it.

If you receive the following message in any of your profiles after upgrading to Opera 6.04:

"Registering native Java methods failed. You either use an old opera.jar file or it is not in the Opera classpath."

Then you are probably missing the path to lc.jar in the Profile's Opera6.ini [Java] section. To correct this install O6CPM v3.12 and update all profiles using the File-Update menu option.

I strongly advise you to run profiles made to share Mail, Cache, Bookmarks or Contact List one at a time. Running them simultaniously may cause the configuration files to get 'out of sync' and could end in tears. Profiles made to not share any of the above should be capable of running simultaniously quite happily.

Opera Customizer & Profile Maker is a 32 bit Windows application, and therefore should work with all versions of Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, NT, and XP (I have only tested on Win98, NT4 and W2k. Please send me any bugs you find).

To install a language file from Opera simply:

• Right click on the language file link above
• Choose 'Save target as...'
• Browse to your Opera directory (the default is 'C:\Program Files\Opera')
• Click the 'Save' button
